Bill Fairchild Meets the New Virginia Tech President

On Dec. 6, 2013, the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors appointed Timothy D. Sands as Virginia Tech’s 16th president, effective June 1, 2014. Sands will succeed Charles Steger, who steps down when Sands assumes office.Sands, 55, currently serves as executive vice president for academic affairs and provost at Purdue University. Virginia Tech Ranked in the top 5 for Construction Methods & Materials

Virginia Tech Construction Students Dominate the ASC Region 2 Competition

The Spring 2023 MLSoC Hardhatting Ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the Moss Arts Center, located at 190 Alumni Mall, Blacksburg, VA 24061. The ceremony will begin at 4:00 P.M. and will be followed by a reception for graduates and their families. Doors will open at 3 p.m.

Reception - Following the ceremony, food will be provided in a tent outside of the Moss Arts Center.

The ceremony will begin at 4:00 P.M. and will be followed by a reception for graduates and their families. We ask that students arrive by 3 p.m. so we can line them up.

As part of thier senior requirements, Construction Engineering and Management (CEM) students take our Capstone Course where they apply theory over two semesters working collaboratively to develop a competitive proposal summarizing their design and construction solutions.  The top five team finalists present to industry leaders on Capstone Day.
