In the Building Enclosure and Systems Technologies (BEST) Lab a team of faculty and industry partners engages students in any type of systems performance related technologies. Though mechanical, electrical, and lighting systems are also part of different research and exploratory projects, we place a specific focus on building enclosure systems and their interrelated thermal, hygrothermal, and acoustic performance. Spring 2023 Hardhatting Ceremony

The Spring 2023 MLSoC Hardhatting Ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the Moss Arts Center, located at 190 Alumni Mall, Blacksburg, VA 24061. The ceremony will begin at 4:00 P.M. and will be followed by a reception for graduates and their families. Doors will open at 3 p.m.

The Fall 2022 MLSoC Hardhatting Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at the Lyric Theatre, located at 135 College Ave, Blacksburg, VA 24060. The ceremony will begin at 4:00 P.M. and will be followed by a reception for graduates and their families. We ask that students arrive by 3 p.m. so we can line them up.

CEM Capstone Showcase

As part of thier senior requirements, Construction Engineering and Management (CEM) students take our Capstone Course where they apply theory over two semesters working collaboratively to develop a competitive proposal summarizing their design and construction solutions.  The top five team finalists present to industry leaders on Capstone Day.
