The 50th Annual Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) International Conference will provide a venue to showcase Virginia Tech, its education philosophy and its alumni and industry partners. The theme for this year's 50th anniversary conference is "Construction Education for the Next 50 Years". The conference will seek to feature current construction research and new teaching paradigms aimed at improving construction education and proposing new pedagogical directions. Invited industry panel presentations and round table discussions are planned to provide current industry best practices and offer an opportunity for faculty, students and industry members to meet, interact and share experiences and opinions. More than 150 attendees from over 50 universities, as well as industry alumni and partners from various A/E/C organizations are expected to attend.
The Department of Building Construction is one of 8 original ASC founding members. Organizing and hosting the 50th anniversary conference is a great honor and provides great visibility and recognition of the Building Construction Program over the past 50 years.
