Day 3: We ate breakfast at the hostel and headed back to the Malama Kaua'i farm to get to work on the greenhouse. It poured down rain all day but that didn't stop these students from getting to work on assembling the greenhouse pieces and digging new posts. We ate a Mexican style lunch prepared by Auntie Lorna in the middle of the day while we dried off, huddled around each other for warmth, and drank some hot chocolate prepared by Katie, another Malama Kaua'i worker that has been our driver on this trip. Caitlin, our Peacework leader contacted the gravel company to postpone the delivery due to muddy conditions. Since the rain was hindering our ability to paint or use the power tools we decided to head back to town so the students could change into dry clothes and explore some local souvenir shops before we meet again to go over the global change curriculum and watch a brief documentary about the island.
