Day 2.
From Dr. Fiori's previous competition experience today's team schedule was similar to the following:
The teams picked up their assigned problems at designated hours between 6:30 and 8:00 am.
After an approximate two hour review, an optional RFI session is held, all of the competing teams can attend their respective RFI sessions together, so that all member benefit from the answers.
Throughout the day teams are allowed to submit additional questions in a formal RFI format. The sponsor company will compile and distribute the answers to all of the teams.
Once or twice throughout the day the judges will conduct an evaluation of the teams in their rooms to judge team interaction, "office" set up, and their degree of professionalism.
Some, if not all of the teams have deliverables at different intervals. Each team has a deadline that must be met at the end of the day. Some of these deadlines are as late as midnight. At this point they must submit their solution that includes their estimate, schedule, and construction means and method.
After an extremely full day the students must then prepare for their presentation. All presentation materials are due Friday morning between 6:30 and 7:00 am. The LEED team is also given a related topic to present about in addition to their solution.
The teams work extremely hard and we are proud of their efforts and dedication!
