Build Lab gives students hands-on learning opportunities

Saw blades buzz, hammers pound and a 3-D printer whirs as students in Virginia Tech's Build Lab convert ideas into physical reality. Two senior building construction majors in the College of Architecture and Urban Studies, Matthew Harrington and Rex Holmes, have dedicated themselves to expanding the lab's capacity. With the help of Professor David Goldsmith, the pair was able to upgrade the facility, adding a large CNC router and many other tools, creating a hands-on learning environment for other students.
