Congratulations Dr. Deb Young-Corbett

Congratulations Deb Young-Corbett!

Join us in congratulating Dr. Deb Young-Corbett, MLSoC Faculty,  for her role in the  in the award winning research paper "Feasibility of Intelligent Monitoring of Construction Workers for Carbon Monoxide Poisoning".

The Best Paper Award was presented at the recent 2013 institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Conference on Automation Science and Engineering.

In the paper, Young-Corbett, along with fellow researchers, Forsyth and Martin explained how they integrated a pulse oximetry  into a typical hard-hat to allow monitoring of workers' blood gas saturation levels.   The results showed that a user would be warned of impending carbon monoxide poisoning with a probability of greater than 99%.
