He received this award for his poster entitled as "Automated Remote Tracking and Visualization of Construction Progress with D4AR - 4 Dimensional Augmented Reality - Models". The best poster was selected by a panel of academic and industry representatives based on scientific contributions and practical significance of research.
Dr. Golparvar-Fard recently joined the Via Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) as an assistant professor and is also a core faculty of the Myers-Lawson School of Construction .
This year, Dr. Golparvar-Fard's research has also been the recipient of the 2010 best student paper award from the 6th International Conference on Innovation in AEC, State College, PA as well as the FIATECH CETI Award which was selected based on a technology implementation or R&D efforts which demonstrates tangible results and benefits to AEC professionals and owners.
Dr. Golparvar-Fard's research involves visual sensing, semantic analysis, and integrated visualization of sustainable construction performance metrics with daily construction imagery, video streams as well as building information models.
