Shark Tank, a popular ABC show, gives entrepreneurs the opportunity of a lifetime. Many people present ideas to the Shark Tank board of investors. The lucky few that get chosen receive funding to help grow their companies.
Ashley Drake, Former Virginia Tech student and Army Corps Engineer takes on the Shark Tank. Ashley was a 2012 graduate of the Building Construction Master’s Program. During her time at Virginia Tech she became an avid Crossfit athlete and this sparked the need for something new. Her husband created The Natural Grip to help Ashley in a competition. When a friend offered to purchase them after borrowing a pair she knew they had something great. Starting from small scale production in their house and purchases on a Facebook page, the company now operates out of a 1000 sf. facility and The Natural Grip can be purchased at hundreds of gyms, stores, and online.
